Katie and Kevin decide to elope here in Southern California from Dublin, Ireland and got married on a gorgeous Tuesday! I felt honored because other than their two attendants, I was their only guest…so I made up 20% of the wedding, which is pretty significant:) Katie brought cute little details with them, like a LEGO bride and groom from Legoland, custom bridal Converse shoes, some Scrabble tiles that spelled LOVE, and a lucky horseshoe for the bouquet. SOMEONE definitely spent some time on Pinterest:)
They have an EPIC trip planned, including hitting all of the theme parks from San Diego up to San Francisco and of course doing the famous Highway 1 drive up the coast through Carmel by the Sea to San Francisco…Oh yeah, and getting married! They are lucky to have our October heatwave at the moment, but I don’t think they are used to this much sun lol! After their ceremony at the one and only glass chapel, Wayfarers Chapel, in Rancho Palos Verdes, I took them across the street to my favorite spot at Terranea Cove. They said they were up for anything, even getting Katie’s dress wet..so I of course made them hike up to the edge of a cliff and jump in the water:) You don’t have to ask me twice…anything for the shot! They brought balloons to signify all of the important people in their lives, wrote their names on them, and set them free. It was a beautiful gesture. The best part was afterwards when I had gotten them all sandy and wet, they told me that they were off to go to Disneyland for the day in lieu of their “reception”! I warned them that somehow Anaheim is always 20 degrees hotter than the coast, but what a perfect way to end their wedding day! I hope you two are enjoying our gorgeous state of California on your honeymoon right now!
