Evelyn and Robert are really having a destination wedding in the Maldives ( I told them I wanted to hide in their luggage for that one:), so this was their pre-wedding wedding in the United States! I adore the landscape of Rancho Palos Verdes and especially shooting at Wayfarers Chapel, so when they asked me to shoot their wedding on a Monday I was all in!
They SO lucked out on the weather. Mother Nature was definitely on their side on their wedding day. It was like 80 degrees and summer weather and the blue sky came out just in time for their first look at the chapel. Then, they had THE MOST STUNNING sunset I have ever seen in Palos Verdes and I have shot down there many times in the past 10 years. It was the brightest pink and literally made an appearance for the 10 minutes we were shooting..SO epic!
One of the cutest memories I have ever seen at a wedding happened at Evelyn and Robert’s wedding. Although Evelyn may not think of this moment as a highlight at her wedding, I did. Evelyn gets low blood sugar and light-headed easily, so with the hot weather and nerves of walking down the aisle, she almost fainted at the altar! They had to stop the ceremony and let her sit down, but then Robert got down on one knee and knelt next to her and continued marrying her on his knees so she could sit and it was so romantic:) They are such a devoted couple.
At their reception down the street at Trump National Golf Course, they had an intimate dinner in the upstairs gold-leafed room and had an adorable theme..the “&” symbol. I mean that’s what it is all about. As a journalist, in writing when you link two names with an ampersand it means they are partners, so that makes that symbol even more relevant:)
I hope you two are surviving the military coup in the Maldives and having and Mother Nature is blessing you even more on the opposite side of the Earth!
