Cheryl and Erik’s Engagement Shoot in NYC’s Highline Park

I just HAD to post this engagement shoot from this past weekend in NYC before this week’s holiday!  What GORGEOUS weather we had all weekend and to be able to run around and take photos at one of my favorite spots in NYC, the Standard Highline was such a treat!  I met Erik because I went to college with his sister and it was SO fun to finally meet his gorgeous fiancee Cheryl and to hear their hilarious tale of how they met! They met at a party in Nantucket (which is where their wedding is going to be in September) and all night he thought she was making eyes back at him, only to find out that the drink menu was above his head the entire time lol.  I love hearing about how it all began and seeing how excited they are to be getting married:)  I’m excited as well to be shooting in Nantucket!

We basically walked around and just did a sort of renegade shoot, finding spots like this random Irish museum that looks like an acre of Irish countryside in the middle of the city, the boat marina near 1 World Trade where there is a floating bar you can take a boat out to every 30 minutes, to the Standard Hotel Rooftop Bar and Highline Park.  My FAVORITE shot of the day was the two of them standing on the fire escape of the Standard Hotel and I was standing across the street to shoot it using sign language to get them positioned right lol.  We were totally breaking the rules to get that shot, but it was SO worth it!

Congratulations to you both and I can’t wait to be back in September!  It’s going to be a ridiculously fun time I can tell!
