Pauline and Chris’s Downtown L.A. Engagement Shoot
I HEART Pinterest and I especially love when one photo inspires an entire photo shoot like this one. Pauline is obsessed with balloons and she saw this amazing photo of a couple sitting on the floor, backlit by huge windows, surrounded in balloons. This sparked a whole quest to find an open loft space downtown, rent a helium tank, blow up hundreds of balloons, and manage to look cute and take romantic photos too! Pauline is like me in so many ways, where once you are determined to do something..NOTHING stops you:) Pauline found this amazing space run by the Sachika Twins, two of the cutest most fun fashion designers you will ever meet. I am so glad to have connected with them, because I will definitely be back! Chris was furiously blowing up balloons and helping out and I was in AWE of what an amazing job they did setting up this loft.
We started out the day over coffee and lunch at Urth Cafe Downtown. These two are complete coffee addicts, so it only made sense to have their wedding date drawn in a latte. I was super impressed at how well the barista did it too! Afterwards, we could see dark, ominous rain clouds so we were rushing to get some urban street shots before the storm hit. It was the most bizarre weather this day, but we managed to get gorgeous rain shots, and then perfect blue skies afterwards!
Finally, we made it back to the penthouse loft for a wardrobe, make-up change (with Marie Tran of Luna Bella Beauty) and some fun playing in a room full of balloons. The lighting was perfect and backlit and we had such a blast shooting this. I couldn’t narrow down this shoot to just a few favorites, since there were so many, so I am posting a bunch! Thanks Pauline and Chris for being the best companions on our adventure-filled shoot!
