What a gorgeous March day we had for Kae and Galen’s Wedding! It was like Summer and our hike down to the Terranea Cove was magical and quite possibly the clearest view I have seen of Catalina Island. Kae and Galen rented a party bus for their crazy bridal party crew and the whole day was one long party!
They had their ceremony at Wayfarers Chapel, the same glass chapel that Kae’s parents got married 37 years ago almost to the day! They even had a framed photo of them on their wedding day standing on the same stairs! It’s amazing how things can come around full circle in life:) Afterwards, we drove around and took photos all around Palos Verdes and then arrived back at the Portofino Hotel in Redondo Beach.
I love the Portofino Hotel for intimate weddings. Their marina-side glass walled ballrooms have the best view of the sunset and all of the boats and sea lions in Redondo Beach. Some of my favorite highlights from their wedding was the traditional tea ceremony, toasts (especially when Kae’s dad yelled , “MY SON!!” and then grabbed Galen and hugged him:), their first dance, the candy bar, and then basically the awesome DJ that tore up the dance floor for the rest of the night. Everyone had such a blast!
At the end of the night my assistant Sarah and I got to play around with the GL-1 gun light and got some amazing shots of Kae and Galen with all of the twinkling city lights and the marina behind them and then we joined them on the dance floor:) That is ALWAYS my favorite way to end a perfect wedding day!
