The day before I left for Peru I photographed my last wedding of the season at Wayfarers Chapel and Trump National in Palos Verdes. It felt like a hot, Summer day at the end of October, but honestly how can we complain? It was GORGEOUS! Kelly and Randy did their engagement shoot the week before their wedding and we had a chance to get a bit silly on the beach and get to know them a bit more so I was excited about some of the fun things they had planned on their wedding day including their choreographed bridal party dance and their newlywed game. I was so excited to work with the fabulous Uyen of Sassy Girl Weddings and Events. She always creates such amazing events and is so easy to work with:) What Uyen didn’t tell me was that they were going to have a mini- donut station as well as their photo booth at the reception and I SWEAR I gained ten pounds eating those things all night!
We staged their first look at Terranea where they were getting ready and we had the most gorgeous view of the blue water and cove behind them. I wanted to make sure they got that famous Palos Verdes view, since their ceremony ended just before sunset. I LOVE shooting at Wayfarers, the famous glass chapel in Palos Verdes. One of the most touching moments was when Kelly walked down the aisle by herself and Randy walked up to meet her so she didn’t have to walk it all alone:) Very sweet. After a heartwarming ceremony and some speed formals at the chapel, we got some amazing twilight photos at Trump National during cocktail hour with the bridal party. I think they definitely were getting saucy at that point…which made for a hilarious and fun choreographed dance after their grand entrance:)
Kelly and Randy, I hope you had a relaxing honeymoon and that you (ie Kelly) had time to sit still for a moment:) She was the busiest bride on her wedding day planning every last detail, so she earned it! I wish you two both the best in your new life together. Enjoy each other!!
