FINALLY, I have a chance to blog about Riki and Kristen’s Balboa Park engagement shoot! I have been traveling, so sorry for the delay!
We had such a fun day in San Diego starting with an awesome meeting and tour of the Bridal Bar down there. As a fellow Bridal Bar member up in LA, I had not had a chance to see our sister studio down there and Anseth, the owner, is AWESOME! Seriously, all brides should take advantage of this free wedding resource to help plan their weddings!
Afterwards, we went to Balboa Park and ran around shooting photos. We were having bizarre summer weather in the middle of January and we enjoyed every minute of it! We rushed to get to the beach in time for sunset JUST making it with 10 minutes to spare. The tide was low and everything was vibrant blue and reflecting in the wet sand like a mirror. Stunningly perfect conditions for taking photos! They of course broke out adorable matching cowboy hats and I swear they practiced their poses:) No, but in all seriousness, I asked them how they would normally act together at the beach and they both answered “piggy back riding” so that was ALL them! lol
I can’t wait for their upcoming wedding in September, not only because they are both so gorgeous and easy to photograph, but because I have known Riki for years and to finally see a friend so happy and in love is always the best part! I can’t believe I JUST learned about your proposal story and about your shared obsession with the Northern Lights! I can not WAIT to see how you incorporate that them into your wedding:) I am so excited you both asked me to be your photographer and I hope you enjoy this sneak peek from our action-packed day!
