I HEART the Hotel Maya in Long Beach. It is such a funky, hidden gem in the heart of Long Beach. You feel like you have warped into Thailand or Bali at this boutique hotel and as a lover of color myself, it has an amazing backdrop for photos. So when I met Nathan and Pamela, it made sense that they chose this spot since Pamela is such a creative person and jewelry designer. All of the jewelry she wore on her wedding day she made herself!
They had their wedding on a Friday with perfect weather and I was obsessed with the clouds that day. Her hotel room overlooked the Queen Mary and the bridge and boats were our backdrop for the entire evening. I finally got to work with the fabulous
Candice Sanders of Events by Candice and between her and our fabulous team of vendors including one of my favorite DJs, DJ Madison Taylor from
Hey Mister DJ, the entire day went smoothly and without a hitch. They had their late afternoon ceremony in this little nook that is surrounded by tropical plants and has a waterfall as the backdrop. It was so beautiful, that they barely had to do anything to dress it up. It was just gorgeous as is. Then we moved to the indoor/outdoor reception space where Pamela surprised us all with Traditional Peruvian Dancers and performances during dinner (a tribute to her heritage). Having traveled to Peru a few times myself, I was brought back to the colors and music of that country…I want to go back!
Honestly, it was such a relaxing fun day full of celebrating, amazing music, dancing and food. Definitely MY kind of wedding:) Pamela and Nathan, I wish you two all the best in your new life together as a married couple!
