Ricardo (AKA Momia) and Monica are so ridiculously cute together! I met them through Diego and Maria while I was traveling down in Antigua, Guatemala and they had JUST gotten engaged on a hot air balloon in Napa Valley a month ago! They are the type of couple who write sweet daily love notes to each other on Facebook and put the rest of us to shame:) They are my FAVORITE kind of couple, because they love photos and are willing to do whatever it takes to get the shot…just like me:) I am SO excited to be able to come back down for their wedding in March of next year. It will be such a gorgeous wedding.
They decided to show me around Antigua and we picked some pretty cool places to shoot. First we started at a little Park called, Tanque La Union, and then did what I loved to do best in Antigua, walk around and find colorful walls to shoot against. They brought cute balloons and we had so much fun with them. Afterwards, Momia gave them to a little girl and then we headed to the top of a nearby mountain to this amazing restaurant/art gallery called Santo Domingo del Cerro. I had eaten dinner there the night before with Diego, and it has the BEST view of the city (and the Vulcan de Agua when it’s ACTUALLY visible). There are fun murals, statues and beautiful gardens up there and it was a perfect spot for photos. Finally, we went back to the amazing boutique hotel where I had been staying all week called Hotel Cirilo. I LOVE this hotel. Imagine a quaint hotel, more like a home, built around the ruins of a 17th century church…yep, this is where I had my breakfast every morning. It was pretty spectacular and I felt like you can’t have an engagement shoot without ruins in Antigua. They are such a part of the culture of the city.
So here is a sneak peek of these two crazy-in-love people. Congratulations Monica and Momia!
