Yan Yan and Yuefan LOVE taking photos and I LOVE having couples like this:) We had plenty of time to run around and shoot in between their ceremony at Wayfarers Chapel in Rancho Palos Verdes and their reception at the Portofino Hotel in Redondo Beach, so this is going to big a huge blog post:)
I heart the Portofino, because of its blue walls and beautiful sitting spaces with chandeliers. It is also completely surrounded by the marina and boats, so sunset there is a specular sight. There are tons of boats, birds, sea lions and activity going on to keep things interesting:) We took photos at Wayfarers, then Terranea (which was a crime scene when we got there, NOT kidding….but THAT didn’t stop us from getting amazing photos:), and then off to the Portofino. But what I loved most about their wedding were the many adorable details and hard work that Yan Yan, Yuefan, and his mother put into it. Honestly, they set up the lighting, photo booth and even hand-made their props, had boxes with their names and date burned into them to hold the flowers for their centerpieces, wine bottles were the table numbers, the table cards were on cute little wine corks, their cake topper was a hand-made statue of them with their little dog Mochi (who couldn’t be there) and they had hanging lanterns and a cute “Mr. and Mrs.” sign on their sweetheart table. They prepared a slideshow, games, and even guests performing songs and musical instruments. There was A LOT of thought put into all of this and they had a jam-packed reception! Thanks again for asking me to document your most important day! I hope you enjoy the photos!
