I have to give a HUGE thank you to the amazing crew of people that helped me behind the scenes to make this wedding as fun and stress-free as it was. First, my photo posse, Sarah Horowitz and Megan Lynn, and of course to Susan Tosounian, with Especially For You Events, and her team for making the day run smoothly and for the comic relief:) It’s always a pleasure working together!
So Lexy and Matt are such a fun couple. I knew from our epic downtown engagement shoot that we were going to have a blast on their wedding day. Not to mention that I randomly knew some of their guests, making me realize yet again that we are all only 2 degrees of separation on this planet (or at least in LA). Our day started out at the Dry Bar and Blushington Make -up Salon on Sunset Blvd, which for ladies is the most relaxing, fun experience. You get to sip on champagne and watch old movies and get pampered:) We then moved on to the Sofitel Hotel to get ready. This hotel has old Hollywood charm, with a modern flair and was a fun backdrop to shoot in, but my FAVORITE part of the day was getting to shoot at Greystone Mansion in Beverly Hills. I LOVE this venue and there are endless gardens and little nooks to stroll around in and you feel like you are in an estate in the English Countryside…what a perfect place to have a wedding! The colors and theme/decor were simple, since the surrounding beauty of the place didn’t need really any help:)
My favorite part of the day was our night adventure in their convertible car on the way to the Sofitel. We wanted to do a night shot somewhere and we ended up smack in the middle of Rodeo Drive, which was apropos….and it turned out to be one of my favorite shots of the day! Then the men changed into Chucks for the after party and we all stuffed our faces with left over wedding cake at the Stone Rose Lounge..always one of the perks of shooting weddings:) Honestly, the whole day was just fun and relaxing…having drinks and dancing out in the open air, and it was a perfect Summer evening. Thank you again for having us be a part of your wedding day. Congratulations to the new Mr. and Mrs. Grimmig!
