Maureen and JP’s Wedding at La Immaculata at USD Campus and the Marine Room in La Jolla
I had THE best time at Maureen and JP’s wedding this past weekend. The weather was perfect in San Diego and I loved staying for the weekend to be a part of such a fun wedding! I knew it was going to be a blast when you mixed Peruvians and Trinidadians lol. There were a lot of cute touches to this wedding. First of all the choice of their gorgeous church, La Immaculata on USD Campus. Both JP and Maureen went to USD as undergrads, but didn’t meet until after graduation. I think both of them were not ready to meet their soulmates that young:), but the timing was perfect when they finally did and what’s a better place to get married than on their alma mater campus:) From there we all went to the Marine Room in La Jolla which is LITERALLY right on the water. One crazy wave and the whole reception would be taken out (which actually happened thirty years ago), but it created an amazing backdrop for the wedding reception. All you could see were people frolicking out in the waves and it made for an obvious “beach-themed” wedding. Maureen and JP even had cute little shovels in sand for their place cards.
Some of my favorite moments from the wedding were:
-the FOOD! It was SO amazing! Dinner was two hours long and included the largest dessert I have ever seen:)
-The random surfers and scuba divers that were part of our beach formals photos
-JP’s cousin who about killed me salsa dancing on the dance floor! I haven’t danced salsa in forever and it was SO much fun!
-The surprise visit of a 1915 “Horseless Carriage” Car that we were able to take some photos in…so rad
-And of course their sparkler beach finally…Maureen was fearless about traipsing through the wet sand in her Vera Wang Gown and heels, but at least it made for awesome pics!
I hope you two are having a blast in Turks and Caicos! You guys deserve it!
