I first met Alisha and Dipak while shooting Alisha’s brother’s wedding (Jason and Megan). I had SO much fun with their family and I can’t describe how excited I am to be photographing Alisha’s now. Although they are getting married a year from now, we decided to shoot their engagement portraits at the Santa Barbara Zoo. One of the things that I love about my job is that I get to travel to cool, beautiful places that I ordinarily wouldn’t take the time to visit, but am glad that I did. The Santa Barbara Zoo is so quaint and picturesque and it is no wonder why they chose that spot to have “study breaks” and eventually where Dipak would propose to Alisha. We ran around for an hour and a half before my camera got crapped on by some sort of vulture creature and Alisha wiped out in heels and we felt like that was a sign that it was time to leave hit the beach:)
When we arrived at the beach there was some sort of massive, well-organized dodgeball tournament going on with like 50 people trying to kill each other with rubber balls. It was hilarious, and even more hilarious that I made them climb up a lifeguard tower in the midst of the chaos….but we managed to get some alone time for more romantic pics. All in all, it was a perfect summer day!
