What a ridiculously fun wedding! I first met Addy and Yoad on skype from Tel Aviv, Israel. Addy is my friend Lauren’s sister and also a friend of my former college roomie, Dori Newman. When I heard they were getting married in NYC, I just had to be a part of this celebration. The Ruotolo’s have such an amazing family and it was a first wedding that I have shot where the father of the bride, George, did all of the girls’ hair!
The weekend started with crazy winds and rain and we all said a prayer for good weather. The morning of the wedding was still raining and we were even prepared with cute umbrellas to use for the photos, but then it was like our prayers were answered. At the exact moment that we did the first look on the roof top of the hotel. The clouds parted and a ray of sun came out and stayed out for the exact time that we were shooting photos at the Highline Park! Once we made it to the venue, a HUGE storm came rolling in and then a double rainbow appeared. It was such a crazy day, but what lucky weather omens to start their marriage!!
They had their beautiful evening wedding in the penthouse of The Glasshouses. This glassed-in room has sweeping 360 views of Manhattan and was a stunning back drop for the ceremony and party. Celebrity coordinator, Lawrence Scott, was in charge of the gorgeous decor which involved tons of glassware, candles, and large silver chalices and of course MY favorite, the most decadent dessert spread I have EVER seen! Giant Ho-hos, whoopie pies, cupcakes and large cake pops…just check it out for yourself! It was the best spread I have ever seen:)
But the highlight for me was the insane partying and dancing (mostly because of the crazy Israelis there:) and seeing the pure love between Addy and Yoad. These two were definitely meant for each other and I feel like both families blend so well. Honestly, I may have to hire Addy’s dad George to speak at my wedding some day he was so funny:) The best part about this all is that the party will continue across the pond in Israel for wedding number 2! What a way to start 2016!!!
