How many Hello Kitty’s does it take to touch the center of a two year old’s heart? Too many to count!
Whenever Cherlin and her sister Dana are given the task to throw a theme party, you better be ready for it to be over the top, perfect and magazine worthy. Seriously, if you two weren’t already overflowing with balancing a business, household, and family I would say you need to start your own events company on the side! You may remember last year for Kate’s birthday they did Midsummer’s night Dream themed birthday and Bess Wyrick made flower crowns for the guests. This year was a Hello Kitty theme, or should I say #HelloKate and it lived up to it’s hype.
All of the guests had to wear hot pink, grey or black and were greeted by huge balloons spelling Hello Kate. Once inside, the kids tables were completely branded with Hello Kitty from the placemats, cups, silverware to the topiaries on the tables and Candy table. My personal favorite was the bite sized kid’s food table spread with Hello Kitty shaped PB&J and other goodies. I’m not going to lie, I think all food spreads should be miniature like this! The grand finale of this already insane kid’s party, was having The Beat Buds come perform in the living room (AKA the same band that performed at Kanye West and Kim’s baby’s birthday party). They are a group of young guys that rock it out for kids and they were SO good. The Hello Kitties stuck to the windows were sound activated, so they were totally jamming out as well with the rest of us!
Other than this party being a kids extravaganza, it was a huge reunion of all of my Hollywood girls I have grown up with, photographed their weddings and families, and just witnessed grow over the years personally and professionally. I LOVE being a part this family! Cher, I am so happy for you, Ian, Kate and now your new addition little Claire Kirby. I can’t wait to be there to watch them both grow! Love you guys!
