I HEART JMatt and Adam!! I JUST flew back in from Hawaii where these two finally tied the knot at the Ihilani Resort and Spa in Oahu. Between all of our travel schedules (even though we are all neighbors in Marina Del Rey) we just could NOT get it together to shoot their engagement shoot. So we decided to do a pre-wedding “Trash the Dress” shoot spanning the island from South East Heeia State Park to the Northend Oahu to Waialua Canyon in the Northend. It was SUCH a fun day, like a little family minivan road trip with Jmatt’s brother driving and us kids in the back causing trouble:) It was a perfect way to see some of the most beautiful spots on the island, get comfortable with each other, AND get really fun shots all at the same time. J had a wardrobe change into this 60’s Mod Tory Burch dress that I LOVED and it sparked some of my favorite photos of the day at the famous Giovanni’s Shrimp Truck and Uncle Woody’s Corn Shack. After stopping along the way to take romantic photos on pristine, empty beaches and taking fun, colorful, retro ones at the food trucks, the coup de grace of the day was both of them hiking up to the cliffs and taking the Waialua Plunge 30 feet into the ocean. It was almost a LITERAL metaphor of these two “taking the plunge” together in marriage:) I have to say that I was super proud of JMatt for doing it and seeing these two be such great partners throughout the day made me realize just how perfectly matched they are! What a fun day! I just wanted to give a sneak peek of this shoot, but stay tuned for their wedding day blog coming soon!
