I have been waiting for Alisha and Dipak’s Wedding for over a year! I first met Alisha when I was photographing her brother Jason’s wedding to Megan and I have had the pleasure of hanging out with their hilarious family and friends now twice! These guys definitely know how to dance and party and the entire day was full of fun and laughter. Alisha is stunningly beautiful and I cannot wait to see a sneak peek of their second Indian wedding this past weekend. I am sure she looked amazing in a Sari and that Dipak’s family raged on the dance floor all night!
They had a gorgeous sunflower-themed garden wedding at Maravilla Gardens in Camarillo. This venue is like a lush oasis in an otherwise arid landscape of wineries and agricultural farms and I love all of the little nooks and areas to shoot, especially the barn. The property is large and private and you get to enjoy every part of the property between the ceremony, cocktail hour, and reception. I love shooting here, because of the glowing light through the trees in the late afternoon and of course the dancing under the string of lights under the stars.
Some of my favorite highlights of the evening (other than having two of my favorite couples there to dance with:) were their adorable details, like the sunflower decor throughout, the wooden love seat that everyone signed as their guestbook, the sign they made with all 700 of their engagement photos to create one photo, Alisha’s broche bouquet made by her mother, her yellow heels, Dipak’s A+D cuff links, the colorful balls of flowers, the cute barrels of gifts for the guys and ladies, the Mr. and Mrs. pillows, their hilarious DJ and his endless bag of props, and of course their sparkler exit!! These two had PLENTY of time to plan out every thoughtful detail, so I expected nothing less;) But most of all, hearing their story of how they met and have remained a solid couple through the years was the most touching part for me. Dipak likes to think he’s “gangsta”, but with Alisha at his side he is a big teddy bear:) I LOVE that!
I am so happy for you both and I can’t wait to follow your family on the rest of your future adventures! Thank you Brian Leahy for helping me photograph their gorgeous day!
