I have to give a HUGE thanks to Diego and Maria for getting dressed back up in their wedding clothes to walk down memory lane (or in our case the streets of Antigua) with me for some gorgeous wedding and engagement portraits! They DID get married there, but three years ago and now they have a beautiful daughter named, Katya. I was spending the week in Antigua shooting for Novica/National Geographic’s catalog and Diego is the regional manager. I fell in love with the hotel, La Casa de Los Suenos, where we had been shooting our catalog all week and Diego told me that he had gotten married there. That conversation quickly turned into a plan to reshoot their wedding photos and the rest is history. As a photographer who is obsessed with vivid colors, Antigua is heaven for me. We ran around and found colorful walls and textures in Calle del Arco, where the famous Arco de Santa Catalina is. Then we went to two ruins; the ruins of the Catedral de San Jose, which almost look like ancient Roman ruins and is SO grand to photograph in and Las Ruinas de Candelaria, where everyday there were pick up soccer games there. But my ALL TIME FAVORITE photo was when we asked the driver of a horse and carriage in Central Park to stop and let us use his carriage for photos. We rode around until I spotted the perfect yellow wall with amazing wrought iron windows and I knew then that I was going to be in LOVE with this shoot. Thank you two again for such a fun day, tour of the city, for introducing me to Momia and Monica, and a delicious lunch with great company! I can’t wait to come back again soon.
